We are recruiting a Managing Quantity Surveyor for a £90 million scheme near Southampton that is currently being negotiated with the client.
The project is construction of new 800 bed student development. RC Frame and full fit out.
Your role is to lead and manage the project commercial team, work with the estimating, design and delivery teams to establish best practice and delivery methods, Deal with the client and all the external stakeholders for the scheme.
You will be responsible for all the financial forecasting and reporting and use your acumen and skills to maximise margins whilst not delaying or compromising the build programme or quality of the finish. You will take the lead on the new development opportunities from the client and take a hands on approach with the larger complex subcontract packages such as groundwork's and services. You will help to train, mentor and develop the team on site and be responsible for new appointments and building the final project team.
The contractor are a Tier 1 national business who work on schemes £30 million upwards, are family owned and are a great company to work with and offer career development, training and external qualifications to all their staff and their staff retention is industry leading.
Ideally you will have worked for a Tier 1 contractor on a major project either as an MQS looking for your next challenge or an SQS looking to make the next step up to manage your own major scheme.
