Darlington Borough Council is committed to safeguarding children and young people. Our dedicated Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) team plays a crucial role in protecting vulnerable children and families. We are seeking a passionate and experienced Social Worker to join our team.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Provide high quality, timely and effective assessment and decision-making support to the MASH team, working closely with colleagues from various agencies including police, health, education, and other social care professionals.
- Conduct thorough assessments of referrals, using your knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of strategies to prevent child abuse and neglect.
- Participate in multi-agency meetings, effectively communicating and collaborating with partners.
- Provide information, advice, and support to other professionals on safeguarding issues.
- Contribute to the ongoing development of the MASH team and service delivery.
Key Requirements:
- Qualified Social Worker (DipSW, CQSW, BA Hons in Social Work, or equivalent).
- Social Care England registration.
- Updated DBS check.
- Experience working in a MASH or similar multi-agency environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage competing demands
