Newcastle City Council's MASH Team is seeking a dedicated and experienced Children's Social Worker to join our team. We are committed to safeguarding children and providing high-quality support to vulnerable families.
About the Role and Responsibilities:
... - First Point of Contact: Receive and screen referrals for children in need of support, conducting initial assessments and prioritizing cases based on risk and need.
- Multi-Agency Collaboration: Work collaboratively with colleagues from various agencies, including police, health, education, and other social care professionals, to effectively assess and respond to referrals.
- Conducting Comprehensive Assessments: Conduct comprehensive assessments of children and families, identifying their strengths, needs, and risks.
- Developing Effective Plans: Develop and implement individualised care plans, including interventions and support strategies, in collaboration with other agencies.
- Providing Information and Advice: Provide information, advice, and support to other professionals on safeguarding issues.
- Maintaining Accurate Records: Maintain accurate records and documentation, ensuring adherence to relevant legislation and guidelines.
- Contributing to Team Development: Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of the team's service delivery.
Key Requirements:
- Qualified Social Worker (DipSW, CQSW, BA Hons in Social Work, or equivalent).
- Social Care England registration.
- Updated DBS check.
- Experience working within a Children's Social Care service, particularly in a MASH or similar multi-agency environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage competing demands.
- Commitment to child-centered practice and a commitment to improving the lives of children and families.
