Role Definition: Manage and oversee material procurement, production, and delivery schedules.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate material flow within the manufacturing facility and between inventory or warehouse.
• Develop and execute material planning for a product line to meet program requirements.
• Schedule and control material releases and monitor material inventory.
• Implement procurement plans that align with business objectives.
• Track supplier performance metrics and negotiate with suppliers to meet material requirements.

Skills Required:

Products and Services:

Problem Solving:

• Identify and document problems and resolution options.

Distribution Requirements Planning (DRP):

• Manage real-time inventory and address bottlenecks and delays.
• Follow processes for inventory management and solve distribution issues.

Forecasting:

• Prepare short-term forecasts and analyse demand data.
• Research seasonal trends and explain business conditions that impact demand.

Inventory Management:

• Maintain appropriate inventory levels to meet internal and external needs.
• Set inventory management benchmarks and provide guidance on processes.

Logistics Management:

• Develop process flows to track lead times and forecast delivery times.
• Maintain shipment records and participate in logistics process integration.

Manufacturing Requirements Planning (MRP):

• Develop materials requirements and costs for custom orders.
• Schedule production runs and ensure material availability.
• Use tools to analyse orders and develop quotes.

Supplier Management:

• Manage relationships and transactions with suppliers.
• Resolve routine supplier issues and participate in supplier selection.
• Ensure purchases meet delivery and quality specifications.
