A forward-thinking specialist school in Leeds, West yorkshire is seeking a Maths and IT Teacher who can deliver high-quality, engaging lessons up to GCSE level from September 2025. We are looking for a passionate practitioner who is innovative, supportive, and resilient.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Strong subject knowledge in Mathematics and IT (GCSE level)
- Proven experience teaching students with SEND needs (essential)
- Experience in delivering Functional Skills and alternative accreditations is highly valued
- A proven ability to engage students who may have struggled in mainstream settings
- Strong behaviour management skills, founded in empathy and positive relationships
- Commitment to closing the attainment gap and promoting lifelong learning skills
- Full understanding of safeguarding and child protection responsibilities
- Ability to work in the UK without SPONSORSHIP
- An Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to get one through Randstad.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality lessons across Maths and IT curricula
- Develop engaging, practical, and applied learning opportunities wherever possible
- Prepare students for a range of accredited outcomes, from Functional Skills to GCSEs
- Use adaptive teaching strategies to support all learners, including those with additional needs
- Monitor student progress closely, setting achievable and aspirational goals
- Collaborate with wider teaching and pastoral teams to remove barriers to learning
- Contribute to the digital literacy and numeracy development across the wider school
