Mechanical Estimator

As a Mechanical Estimator, you will be working across a number of Water frameworks for the remaining work in AMP7 as well as AMP8 early works. As a division, the estimating function is growing to help the increased volume of work within the next 5 years. The projects will vary in value from £5 million to over £100 million.

Pay Rate: £400 - £450

Responsibilities:
- Responsible for reviewing all PCD (project content documents)
- Assist in proposing scope of works in preparation for Bottom-up estimates for all of the M&E elements of the projects
- Alongside the estimating team, preparations of the mechanical estimates
- Identify all possible errors or omissions from within the PCB and correct them efficiently
- Ensure materials and sub-contract requirements for sourcing and pricing are prepared
- Top-Down review from cost curves as well as schedule of rates to assist in negotiating the proposed target price
- Attend required site visits and ad hoc meetings during the tender process
- Review the process from start to finish to ensure quota requirements were met
- Review the mechanical and electrical appraisals required for the attendances and packages required
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Degree level qualified or equivalent in a Mechanical or Electrical Engineering discipline
- Experience working within the Water Sector as an Estimator for a major mechanical or electrical contractor
- Full Driving license
- Commercially focused with a knowledge of various Forms of Contract
- Knowledge of CCS 'Candy' would be advantageous
