We have a Full-time role for one of our clients TATA Steel in Shotton is seeking a skilled Plant Maintenance Mechanical Fitter with welding/fabrication experience for a 12-month temporary role.
This position is perfect for an experienced welder/fabricator with excellent communication skills, a strong adherence to Health and Safety policies, and a willingness to learn and grow in their role.

- Location: Shotton Works, Deeside, Weighbridge Rd, Flintshire CH5 2NH
- Rate: 16.51ph
- Shifts: Full Time, 39 hours a week, Monday to Thursday 08:00 - 16:00 | Friday 08:00 - 15:00
- Contract length: 12 months initially, could be extended and lead to a permanent position
- Start: ASAP (within 1-2 weeks)
Responsibilities:
- Fabricate and repair equipment using welding techniques.
- Support the maintenance of process lines, cranes, and safety systems across the site.
- Ensure work aligns with SOPs, promoting a safe working environment.
- Comply with Health, Safety, and Environmental standards, and participate in team safety meetings.
- Safely operate equipment in Manufacturing Engineering workshops.
- Create fabrications based on drawings within deadlines.
- Assist in developing designs for process and safety improvements.
- Repair and refurbish existing equipment, such as the Galvanising line pot gear.
- Contribute to continuous improvement, focusing on safety and housekeeping.
- Perform tasks on process lines, auxiliary plant, and cranes as required.
- Carry out safety audits and risk assessments (LOLER).
- Deputise for the Team Leader when necessary.
Essential Requirements:
- Time-served welder/fabricator with relevant plant experience in the steel and construction industry.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Full understanding of Health and Safety procedures and company policies.
- Good risk awareness when planning and undertaking tasks.
Desirable Qualities:
- Mechanical engineering skills.
- Ability to manage risk assessments and safety tasks.
