The Role:
We are seeking a highly experienced and results-oriented MEICA Manager to lead and oversee all aspects of MEICA (Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Control, and Automation) activities for water treatment projects in Kent. You will report directly to the Senior Project Manager and play a crucial role in ensuring the successful and safe delivery of these vital infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities:
Full Life Cycle MEICA Management:
Design Phase:
* Guide and establish standards for the Project Engineers during the early design stages, ensuring MEICA considerations are integrated into design development and optioneering.
* Establish a consistent approach to reviewing design submissions from the supply chain.
* Collaborate with Heads of Design to ensure the quality, timeliness, and consistency of design production. Develop strong working relationships with designers and supply chain partners to enhance delivery.
Project Execution:
* Support Program Managers with resource planning, addressing MEICA-related issues, and overseeing MEICA construction quality.
* Collaborate with Program Managers, the Procurement Manager, and Operations Lead to develop a comprehensive MEICA procurement strategy.
* Lead and manage a team of Project Engineers and M&E Supervisors across multiple projects.
* Maintain regular communication with Regional Delivery Leads to ensure consistent MEICA delivery across projects.
* Ensure compliance with National and Local Technical Standards for all projects.
Performance and Improvement:
* Conduct regular performance reviews with MEICA teams, providing feedback, and identifying areas for improvement.
* Implement methods and processes to cultivate a culture of excellence and continuous improvement across projects.
Risk Management and Compliance:
* Identify and manage potential risks related to MEICA systems, including mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, control, and automation aspects.
* Develop and implement a robust Southern Water SCO procedure to ensure site compliance.
* Chair meetings to demonstrate thorough risk review and mitigation processes.
* Be fully conversant with MEICA subcontractor contract conditions and associated risks.
* Ensure all projects are delivered with zero H&S and Environmental incidents.
Reporting and Communication:
* Provide regular progress reports to senior management and stakeholders, highlighting key milestones, risks, and issues.
* Communicate effectively with project teams, subcontractors, and clients.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
Essential:
* Extensive experience in leading and managing large MEICA teams in a construction or water treatment environment.
* A proven track record of success in managing MEICA projects from initial design to commissioning handover.
* Deep understanding of the water supply industry and its regulations.
* Strong knowledge of construction contract law and forms of contract.
* Proven ability to influence internal stakeholders and guide MEICA strategies.
Desirable:
* Formal qualifications in a relevant engineering field (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical, or a related discipline).
* Experience with specific water treatment technologies and processes.
* Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to MEICA systems.
* Experience with project management methodologies (e.g., PRINCE2, Agile).
