Responsibilities:
As a Mental Health Officer, you will play a crucial role in providing statutory social work services to individuals experiencing mental health difficulties across the Western Isles. You will be responsible for a varied and challenging caseload, working in accordance with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures, including the Mental Health (Care and Treatment) (Scotland) Act 2003 and associated legislation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Undertaking comprehensive assessments of individuals' mental health needs and associated social care requirements.
- Developing and implementing person-centred care plans in collaboration with service users, their families, carers, and other professionals.
- Exercising statutory duties and responsibilities as a Mental Health Officer, including the completion of relevant legal documentation and attendance at Mental Health Tribunals.
- Providing advice, support, and advocacy to service users and their families.
- Working collaboratively with a range of partner agencies, including health services, housing providers, and voluntary organisations.
- Contributing to the development and delivery of mental health services within the Western Isles.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records in accordance with professional and organisational standards.
- Participating in regular supervision and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications and Skills:
- A qualified and registered Social Worker - SSSC registered
- Mental Health Officer qualification
- A full driving license and access to a vehicle is desirable due to the rural nature
