Title: Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer
Location: Purfleet, West Thurrock, Essex
Shifts: Monday - Friday, 8am - 4pm
Salary: Circa £55,000 per annum (including on call allowance) + Overtime Available + 36 Days Holidays + 14% Pension + Annual Bonus
The Role:
An international aggregates manufacturer that is seeking a senior multi-skilled maintenance engineer with experience within an industrial environment or manufacturing industry to join their team on a full time, permanent basis.

Responsibilities:
- Perform both mechanical and electrical maintenance tasks, including fault finding, inspections, preventive and reactive work, alignment, and troubleshooting.
- Help maintain maintenance policies by updating technical details, job instructions, risk assessments, and documents.
- Utilize the SAP system for operational tasks and use the CMMS to update task statuses and reports.
- Participate in engineering projects at various stages, including planning, installation, and operation.
- Manage power switching (both low voltage and high voltage) while working with high voltage motors and systems.
- Ensure that systems and equipment are safe to work on for yourself and others.
- Operate and maintain equipment like forklifts and cherry pickers as trained.
- Coordinate and supervise maintenance staff if required and be ready for after-hours calls and overtime if needed, following company rules.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 5 years of demonstrated experience and competency in a similar position within a heavy production or manufacturing environment is required.
- You must have completed an onsite apprenticeship (or hold a NVQ, HNC, ONC or HND) in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- A solid understanding and hands-on experience with mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and process systems are necessary.
- Proven capabilities in troubleshooting, diagnostics, and problem-solving across both mechanical and electrical fields are required.
- A good grasp of maintenance methodologies, including preventive, proactive, condition monitoring, and reliability tools is important.
- NEBOSH or IOSH Health and Safety Certification is preferred.
- A reasonable understanding and experience with health and safety legislation, such as LOLER, PUWER, Working at Height, Confined Spaces, COSHH, and PSSR is necessary.
- A current First Aid Certificate is desirable.
- Proven ability to work effectively within a technical team and the capacity to understand and influence the surrounding environment is essential.
