Nursery Assistant - Preston

We are currently recruiting enthusiastic Nursery Assistants for temporary, short-term, and long-term positions in a primary school in Preston. The school is looking for qualified Teaching Assistants and nursery staff to provide key support within the nursery on both a day-to-day and ongoing basis throughout the school year. Candidates with experience or knowledge of Read Write Inc phonics and continuous provision are especially encouraged to apply, particularly for those considering longer-term placements. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide classroom support to either the whole class, individual pupils, or small groups (typically 4-5 children).
- Assist with leading small group activities under the guidance of the class teacher or SENCO.
- Help the class teacher with maintaining a positive behaviour environment.
- Contribute to the delivery of teaching materials and ensure that resources are differentiated to suit pupil needs.
- Offer feedback to the class teacher and SENCO, tracking student progress.
- Assist with classroom setup, managing daily activities, ensuring continuous provision, and updating display boards and pupil journals.

Requirements:
- Relevant qualifications (Level 2/3 TA or Nursery qualification).
- Knowledge of the EYFS curriculum.
- Experience working in a classroom or nursery setting.
- Two references from the past 5 years, with one being child safeguarding-related.
Desirable:
- DBS on the update service (if not, we can help you obtain this).
