We are seeking a dedicated Pastoral Lead to join our secondary school in Leeds. This is a full-time role, starting immediately, where you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the welfare, emotional support, and positive behaviour of students.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in a pastoral, safeguarding, or welfare-related role within a school or similar setting.
- Strong understanding of safeguarding policies and procedures.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to manage challenging behaviour and support vulnerable students.
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead on all matters related to student welfare and pastoral care.
- Support the social, emotional, and behavioural needs of students, working closely with teachers and support staff.
- Monitor attendance, safeguarding concerns, and student well-being, implementing strategies to address issues.
- Liaise with parents, carers, external agencies, and multi-disciplinary teams to ensure the best outcomes for students.
- Contribute to the development of school policies around behaviour management and student support.
