About the role
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Pastoral Support Worker to join a vibrant and supportive secondary school in Leeds. You will be working with Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students, offering vital support to ensure their emotional well-being, behaviour, and attendance are managed effectively.

Pay Rate: £95 - £140 per day
Essential Requirements:
... - Previous experience in a pastoral or student support role within a secondary school.
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
- A relevant qualification in education, youth work, psychology, or a related field
Skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and manage challenging behaviour effectively.
- A good understanding of safeguarding policies and procedures.
- Patience, empathy, and resilience when working with students facing difficulties.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
- A positive, solution-focused attitude with a genuine passion for supporting young people.
Responsibilities
- Build strong relationships with students to provide emotional and behavioural support.
- Act as a key point of contact for students facing personal, social, or emotional challenges.
- Work closely with teaching staff to identify students in need of additional support.
- Support students in managing their behaviour and engagement with learning.
- Monitor student attendance and work with families to address concerns.
- Promote positive attitudes and resilience among students.
- Deliver small group or one-to-one interventions focusing on emotional well-being.
- Record and report pastoral concerns accurately and promptly.
- Act as a role model and mentor, inspiring confidence and trust.
- Assist in developing and delivering behaviour and well-being policies.
