We are seeking an exceptional Porter to join our team and provide essential support to the healthcare trust based in Antrim. The ideal candidate will fully understand the role of a porter inclusive of health and safety issues and lifting techniques.
LOCATION: Antrim
POSITION: Porter (Band 2)
PAY RATE: Band 2 £11.45
HOURS: 37.5 pw

Requirements:
- Minimum 6 months experience in a similar role
- A valid driving license
- Ability to adapt to different situations
- Ability to prioritise work
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to exercise tact and maintain confidentiality
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Knowledge of Health & Safety
- Due to the nature of this work enhanced vetting is essential including a Access NI
Responsibilities:
- Movement of furniture and equipment
- Collection, delivery, sorting and franking of mail
- Data input onto Portering Backtraq electronic database
- Store, deliver and maintain medical gas cylinders
- Convey or accompany patients/visitors between wards, departments etc.
- Assist nursing staff to lift or move patients
- Convey bodies to the mortuary
- Undertake driving duties as required from time to time.
- Carry communication equipment as required e.g. bleep, phone.
- Collection and delivery of items throughout the hospital including patient charts, patient samples
- Undertaking any other duties appropriate to the grade as directed by the Team Leader
- Using relevant computer software and systems ensuring records are maintained accurately
