Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualised support to primary school students with special educational needs, adapting teaching methods and materials to meet their specific requirements.
- Assist the class teacher in implementing individualised education plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies.
- Create a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment that promotes the well-being and engagement of all students.
- Support students in developing essential life skills, including communication, social interaction, and independent learning.
- Monitor and document student progress, providing feedback to teachers, parents, and SEN coordinators.
- Collaborate with colleagues and external professionals to support the holistic development of SEN students.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant in the UK, particularly with students who have special educational needs.
- A solid understanding of various SEN conditions and the ability to apply appropriate strategies to support students.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
- A patient, empathetic, and supportive approach to working with children with additional needs.
- Relevant qualifications or training in SEN, education, or child development are highly desirable.
