We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Primary Teaching Assistant to join our team at a well-established primary school in Hitchin, Hertfordshire. This is a full-time, long term position, offering an exciting opportunity to work with children across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.
The successful candidate will be passionate about supporting children in their learning journey, creating an inclusive environment, and working alongside a supportive team of educators.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons and activities for children in Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.
- Work with small groups and individual students to provide tailored support in literacy, numeracy, and other areas of the curriculum.
- Assist in managing classroom behaviour and maintaining a positive learning environment.
- Support students with additional learning needs (SEND) and ensure their inclusion in all classroom activities.
- Help prepare teaching materials and resources.
- Assist with administrative tasks as required, including record-keeping and classroom organisation.
- Foster a nurturing and encouraging environment for all students.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience working with children, ideally within a primary school setting.
- An enhanced DBS on the update service
- 2 recent professional References
- Eligibility to work in the UK
- A genuine passion for helping children reach their full potential.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Patience, empathy, and flexibility in dealing with the diverse needs of students.
- A positive attitude and commitment to the values of the school.
- A minimum of GCSEs in English and Maths (or equivalent) required.
- Relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 2 or 3) is desirable, but not essential.
