As a key member of our team, the Prison-Based Social Worker will play a crucial role in this mission by providing support, guidance, and advocacy to individuals in custody.

Responsibilities:
... - Conduct needs assessments and develop individualised support plans.
- Provide one-on-one and group counselling for inmates, addressing issues such as mental health, addiction, anger management, trauma, and family dynamics.
- Work collaboratively with prison staff, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders to deliver comprehensive support.
- Facilitate rehabilitative programs and workshops focused on life skills, emotional resilience, and future planning.
- Help clients access resources and services, both within the prison and in preparation for release.
- Advocate for inmate rights and wellbeing while ensuring that programs meet ethical and professional standards.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of client interactions and progress.
- Provide guidance and support in family reunification and relationship-building efforts.
Qualifications and registrations:
- Qualified Social Worker
- SSSC registered in the Social Work part of the register
- LSCMI trained
