Are you a strategic Procurement Director with indirect experience and a proven track record of success in the private sector?
As a Procurement Director, you will be working on a private sector portfolio, supporting a leading healthcare organisation, working with 300 Private Equity members. You will be responsible for categories ranging from Indirects, MRO (Maintenance, Repair and Operations), Medical Capital Equipment and Transportation. You will be responsible for negotiating industry leading national agreements, ensuring best in class industry pricing and contract terms and conditions.

Category Management:
... - Deep understanding of product features, benefits, and market trends.
- Analysing supplier offerings
- Ability to interpret market information and cost drivers
- Knowledge of end-user needs and sensitivities towards products/services.
Sourcing Process Mastery:
- Demonstrate expertise in all aspects of the sourcing process, from market research and bid preparation to strategy development, supplier qualification, RFP/ITT, contract negotiations, and launch.
- Expertise in determining appropriate procurement approaches to deliver value for stakeholders.
- Proven ability to present complex information clearly and concisely, managing objections and challenges during negotiations.
Effective Leadership:
- Strong delegation skills and a commitment to team development.
- Conducts effective performance reviews and career conversations to foster motivation and skill development.
- Championing the company values and promoting a positive team culture.
Supplier Relationship Management:
- Ability to interpret supplier annual reports and engage in strategic discussions about future product pipelines.
- Keen understanding of evolving technologies and supplier capabilities.
- Experience in investigating new supplier entrants to the market.
Strategic Thinking & Risk Management:
- Develops well-defined contract strategies, aligning them with customer needs and group purchasing objectives.
- Articulates strategic steps and manages risks throughout the sourcing process.
- Adapts strategies and negotiations as needed to ensure successful outcomes.
- Presents strategic proposals to senior leadership for approval.
What you'll need?
- Procurement Director/Senior Manager experience with a proven track record of delivery against targets
- Line Management experience
- Indirect category knowledge
- Strategic Sourcing and Category Management experience
- Experienced negotiator
- Supplier relationship management and project management experience
- Accomplished user of e-Procurement systems, Microsoft Word / Excel / PowerPoint / Access, Outlook
- Member or training to be a member of the Chartered Institute of purchasing and Supply, and works in accordance h the CIPS Code of Ethics
