We are excited to invite an experienced Procurement Professional with a background in both public and private category management to join our growing and successful procurement team at a renowned healthcare organisation in Birmingham!
This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of and manage a successful team, contributing to a successful and growing department. You will manage categories including, but not limited to, pathology, diagnostics, LIMS, automation, renal, and medical gases. The role involves negotiating national agreements, ensuring industry-leading pricing, and securing best-in-class contract terms.
Daily Responsibilities
- Manage and negotiate industry-leading agreements in pharmacy procurement categories.
- Conduct end-to-end sourcing: market research, strategy development, RFIs, RFPs, and contract negotiations.
- Build and leverage supplier relationships, assess market information, and anticipate future product pipelines.
- Lead presentations on category strategies to stakeholders and participate in supplier reviews.
- Develop a deep understanding of assigned product categories and their market dynamics.
- Leverage market insights and supplier knowledge to develop strategies, mitigate risks, and negotiate agreements
- Line Management
- Meet financial & operational goals in the annual contracting plan
- Recognise and support any development gaps individuals may have
About You:
- Proven procurement experience with a track record of meeting targets
- Strong background in both public and private sector procurement
- Expertise in strategic sourcing and category management
- Experience in managing a small team or the ability to take on line management responsibilities is essential
- Skilled negotiator with supplier relationship management experience
- Healthcare procurement experience is advantageous
- Proficient in e-Procurement systems and MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
- Desirable: Understanding of EU Directives, Group Purchasing Organisations, and CIPS membership (or working towards it)
