A residential service in East Lancashire is looking for a qualified Psychologist to join their existing staff team on a part time or full time basis.
This role is open to newly qualified up to Consultant Psychologists who have a passion for making a difference in people's lives.
About the Role:
The service is a multidisciplinary attachment and trauma-informed providing assessment, stabilisation, treatment and intervention for children and young people with complex mental health needs. Promoting recovery, well-being and independence.
Clinical Responsibilities:
... - To provide specialist psychological assessments for children and young people, with a particular focus on attachment and neurobiological development in the context of childhood trauma.
- To work as a member of the multi-disciplinary team for children and young people, within the clinical governance structures and protocols of the service.
- To formulate and implement plans for the formal psychological treatment and/or management of emotional and behavioural disorders in children, young people and families, based upon an evidence-based conceptual framework.
- To be responsible for developing and implementing a range of psychological interventions with a particular focus on attachment, neurobiology, emotion regulation, dissociation, behaviour, cognitive processing and self-concept. Adjusting and refining psychological formulations
- To evaluate and make decisions about treatment options considering both theoretical and therapeutic models and highly complex factors concerning historical, environmental and developmental processes that have shaped the individual, family or group.
- To synthesise clinical material and provide specialist psychological advice, guidance and consultation to other professionals, contributing to clients' formulation, diagnosis and treatment plan.
- To contribute directly and indirectly to a psychologically-informed framework of understanding and care to the benefit of all clients of the service, across all settings and agencies serving the client group.
- To undertake risk assessment and risk management for individual clients and to provide advice to other professions on psychological aspects of risk assessment and risk management.
- To contribute to and implement policy changes and developments.
- To communicate effectively in a skilled and sensitive manner, information concerning the assessment, formulation and treatment plans of clients under their care and to monitor progress during the course of multi-disciplinary care.
- To contribute knowledge, advice and support to facilitate the effective and appropriate provision of psychological care by all members of the team.
- The post holder will undertake all work sensitive to the needs of children and young people and their families/carers from a wide range of ethnic, cultural and religious backgrounds and with sensitivity to issues of power, gender, educational attainment, sexuality, disability, class and age.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Doctoral degree (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) in Clinical Psychology or Counselling Psychology.
- Experience working with a diverse population of individuals across the lifespan, including children, adolescents, adults, and older adults.
- Strong clinical skills and knowledge of evidence-based assessment and intervention strategies.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
- Commitment to ethical and client-centered practice.
- Ability to work independently and manage a caseload effectively.
