Role: Public Health and Protection Team Leader (Temporary, 12 Weeks)
Location: Campus East Office, WGC - AL8 7PH

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to join our team on a temporary basis for 12 weeks. About the Role:
As a Public Health and Protection Team Leader, you will play a crucial role in safeguarding the public's health and well-being by effectively managing and coordinating a team of Environmental Health Officers. Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading and motivating a team of Environmental Health Officers, ensuring effective performance and achieving team goals.
- Providing expert advice and guidance on a range of environmental health issues, including food hygiene, occupational health and safety, pollution control, and public health.
- Managing a demanding workload with conflicting priorities, ensuring efficient and effective service delivery.
- Preparing and presenting credible evidence at court, tribunals, or committees.
- Identifying, assessing, quantifying, and managing food safety, occupational safety, environmental, and public health risks.
- Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and regulations.
What We Offer:
- Competitive hourly rate: £27.65 - £29.35 per hour (equivalent to £53,343 - £56,632 per annum)

Essential Requirements:
- Masters or Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Health (or for persons who qualified prior to 1995, the Diploma in Environmental Health)
- Registered with the Environmental Health Officers Registration Board (EHORB).
- Corporate Member of the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH).
- Post-graduate experience in the field of Environmental Health encompassing work within food hygiene/safety, occupational health and safety, pollution control, and public health disciplines.
- Proven ability to manage a demanding personal workload with conflicting priorities.
- Experience in preparing/giving credible evidence at court, tribunal, or committee.
- Strong analytical skills to identify, assess, quantify, and manage food safety, occupational safety, environmental, and public health risks.
