Randstad are recruiting for a Qualified Social Worker to join Wirral Council's Assessment and Intervention Team. This is a full time role, offering an amazing pay rate of £35 per hour.

Responsibilities:
- Respond to referrals from the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH).
- Undertake Child and Family Assessments under S17 and Child Protection enquiries under S47 of the Children Act 1989.
- Analyse risk and protective factors to determine levels of need and appropriate intervention
- Implement short-term interventions to support families and reduce risk.
- Work with children, young people, and families to gather their views and ensure they are central to planning
- Engage in direct work with children to understand their lived experiences.
- Collaborate with partner agencies (e.g., schools, health, police) to gather information and coordinate support
- Initiate legal processes including Public Law Outline (PLO) and court proceedings if needed.
- Attend and contribute to strategy meetings, Child Protection Conferences, and Looked After Children Reviews.
- Prepare clear, concise, and evidence-based reports for internal meetings and court.
- Use frameworks such as Signs of Safety to structure assessments and safety planning.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records using the local authority's case management system.
- Work within statutory timescales to complete assessments and manage transitions into longer-term teams if required.
Requirements:
- Social Work Degree or equivalent
- Social Work England registration
- Enhanced DBS
