Randstad are recruiting for an experienced Social Worker to join Knowsley Council's Quality and Safeguarding team as an Assistant Manager. This is a full time role, offering up to £44 per hour.

Responsibilities:
- Provide operational oversight and management support to the Quality and Safeguarding Team, ensuring compliance with safeguarding legislation, policies, and procedures.
- Support in safeguarding enquiries under Section 42 of the Care Act 2014, ensuring effective risk management, decision-making, and multi-agency working.
- Assist in the development and implementation of safeguarding training, policies, and practice guidance for staff and partner agencies.
- Monitor and audit safeguarding cases to ensure best practice, adherence to statutory requirements, and continuous improvement in service delivery.
- Lead on quality assurance activities, including case file audits, practice observations, and service user feedback, reporting on findings and implementing action plans.
- Support the implementation of learning from Safeguarding Adults Reviews (SARs), Domestic Homicide Reviews (DHRs), and other learning processes to improve frontline practice.
- Develop and maintain strong partnerships with health, police, housing, voluntary sector, and other safeguarding agencies to ensure effective safeguarding responses.
- Represent the team in multi-agency meetings, safeguarding boards, and operational forums, contributing to strategic discussions on safeguarding and quality assurance.
- Support the coordination of multi-agency training and workshops to build safeguarding capacity across partner organisations.
- Provide supervision and support to social workers and safeguarding officers, ensuring they are equipped to manage complex cases effectively.
- Identify training and development needs within the team, supporting continuous professional development (CPD) and best practice learning.
- Assist in recruitment, induction, and mentoring of new staff members to ensure a skilled and knowledgeable workforce.
- Support the development, implementation, and monitoring of performance indicators related to safeguarding and quality assurance.
- Contribute to service improvement initiatives, embedding a culture of continuous learning, reflection, and professional challenge.
- Work closely with senior managers to review and develop policies, procedures, and action plans in response to changing legislation and national best practices.
- Support staff in managing complex safeguarding cases, providing professional guidance and decision-making support.
- Contribute to risk assessments, safeguarding planning, and protection planning, ensuring individuals receive the appropriate level of care and support.
- Support investigations into serious incidents, complaints, and safeguarding concerns, ensuring timely and effective responses.
Requirements:
- Social Work England Registration
- Social Work Degree
- Enhanced DBS
