Locum Social Worker Opportunity - Child Protection / CIN Team - Halton

We're currently working with a forward thinking Local Authority in Halton seeking a dedicated Social Worker to join their Child Protection/Children In Need (CIN) team on a locum basis.

Responsibilities:
- Undertake complex casework including single assessments, Section 47 investigations, parenting & viability assessments
- Contribute to care proceedings in both public and private law arenas
- Prepare Child Permanence Reports (CPRs) and support adoption planning
- Work closely with families, safeguarding children at every stage
- Collaborate with multi-agency professionals to develop effective care plans
To be considered for the role, ideally you will have:
- BSc Social Work or equivalent
- SWE registration
- Minimum 1-3 years' experience in child protection, assessment, and long-term case management
- Strong court experience, including familiarity with public and private proceedings
- A relationship-based, child-centred approach to practice
- Confidence managing a full and complex caseload in a fast-paced team
