Responsibilities:
- Analyse, summarise and evaluate this information to provide a holistic assessment of a child's needs
- Understand the context of child development, parenting capacity, family and environmental factors in which to establish the needs of an individual child
- Provide written and verbal reports which are concise, informative and based on analysis of complex evidence
- Assess needs, to devise written plans for intervention and/or care for children and their families
- Develop and manage Child Protection Plans for all children on the Child Protection Register
- To maintain case records, keeping case files well organised, up to date and able to provide concise and accurate information about a child's circumstances and plans
To be considered for the Social Worker, ideally you will have:
- 2+ years experience in child protection and care proceedings
- Social Work Qualification
- Registered with Social Work England
- Have experience of long term child protection and assessment work
- Be able to manage a full and complex caseload
- Be child-focused and able to implement relationship-based and systemic-based practises
- Have a good knowledge of the issues and risks faced by children in care and the procedures to manage these
- Work well individually and within a team
