Overview:
Summary of Service and Team
- Wakefield's Integrated Front Door provides a single integrated gateway for all concerns about child safety or welfare. The purpose of this role is to bring together a Multi-Agency Workforce to facilitate the early identification of risk of harm and unmet additional need. To make timely, co-ordinated and proportionate interventions to keep children and vulnerable people safe and ensure that they are receiving an appropriate level of support where additional need has been identified.
- The appointed worker will be expected to hit the ground running, it is a busy service
About us
- Our IFD in Wakefield is the Front Door for referrals into our Early Help Service and Children's Social Care. We are a co-located service with partners from the Police, Health, Education, Domestic Abuse Services, CVE team and Housing.
- Our social work practice with children and families is so important. It can be both incredibly challenging and hugely rewarding. The responsibility of working with families where the decision you make and the power of your influence can shape and change lives, can be difficult. The work will be fast paced due to the tight timescales of MASH work and our expectations for the quality of work is high due to the importance of keeping children safe. You will have access to management advice where required on cases as well as support from colleagues. There will be a limit on the number of cases you hold at any given time.
- Hybrid working is an option:
- 3 days a week in office with the expectation to be in the office when on duty taking phone calls. Which is every 3 weeks on a Wednesday-Tuesday rota
Requirements:
- Social Work England registered
- Social Work Degree or equivalent
- Enhanced DBS
