Cafcass are looking for permanent Social Workers to join their team in Chelmsford in their Work After First Hearing - Private Law Team.
Salaries range between £41,550 - £46,322, DOE.

Responsibilities:
- Case Management: Assess the ongoing needs of the child and family dynamics post-first hearing.
- Provide recommendations to the court about the child's welfare and best interests.
- Welfare Reports (Section 7 Reports): Conduct detailed investigations through interviews with parents, children (if appropriate), and relevant third parties.
- Observe family dynamics and the child's living arrangements.
- Assess risk factors, including domestic abuse, substance misuse, or mental health concerns.
- Prepare and submit welfare reports with evidence-based recommendations to the court.
- Safeguarding and Risk Assessment: Monitor for safeguarding concerns throughout the case.
- Liaise with local authorities, police, and other agencies to address any identified risks.
- Update the court on changes in circumstances that impact child safety or welfare.
- Facilitation of Parental Agreements: Work with parties to encourage agreements on child arrangements where possible, avoiding further litigation.
- Court Attendance: Attend subsequent court hearings to provide updates and clarify recommendations in person if required.
Requirements:
- Enhanced DBS
- Social Work England registration
- Social Work Degree
- Full UK drivers license with access to own car
Experience:
- Children
- Working with highly vulnerable children
- 3 years+ experience
