Responsibilities

• Conducting Joint Investigative Interviews (JIIs) with children, ensuring their voice is heard and that interviews are carried out in a child-centred, trauma-informed manner.
• Assessing and investigating cases where children may be at risk, including child protection inquiries, and developing care plans that ensure the safety and welfare of the child.
• Coordinating with families, carers, and other professionals to gather information, conduct risk assessments, and make decisions in the best interest of the child.
• Collaborating with multi-agency teams, including the police, health services, and education professionals, to protect and support vulnerable children and their families.
• Preparing comprehensive reports and attending court, when necessary, to ensure that the child's best interests are represented.

Requirements

• Qualification in Social Work
• Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) registration
• JII, Child Protection Interview, and Child Protection Training
• Previous experience working as a Children and Families social worker
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Excellent understanding of relevant policies and legislation
