Lancashire County Council's Duty and Assessment Team is seeking a Social Worker with at least three years of experience to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in Preston, Chorley, and South Ribble, making a real impact in safeguarding children and supporting families.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct initial assessments and Section 47 investigations.
- Respond to referrals and assess risk to children and families.
- Develop and implement child protection plans and safety plans.
- Prepare court reports and other statutory documentation.
- Work collaboratively with multi-agency teams to ensure positive outcomes for children.
Requirements:
- Qualified Social Worker with at least three years of experience in a statutory children's service role.
- Demonstrable experience working with children and young people in a statutory role, preferably within a children in our care team.
- Knowledge and experience of working with children and young people with complex needs.
- Strong understanding of child protection legislation and statutory frameworks.
- Ability to manage caseloads between 15 and 22, depending on the function.
- Excellent assessment, analytic, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment with opportunities for team collaboration when needed.
