Senior Social Worker - Adult Safeguarding Team, Manchester Council
Randstad is recruiting for a dedicated and experienced Senior Social Worker to join the Adult Safeguarding Team at Manchester City Council. This full-time locum opportunity offers a competitive hourly rate of up to £32.00, ideal for professionals who are passionate about protecting vulnerable adults and upholding the principles of dignity, choice, and safety.
About the Role
As part of the Adult Safeguarding Team, you will play a key role in managing complex safeguarding cases involving adults at risk of abuse or neglect. Working within the Care Act 2014 framework, you will lead safeguarding enquiries, coordinate multi-agency responses, and ensure that adults are supported to live safely and independently wherever possible.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage Section 42 safeguarding enquiries, ensuring a proportionate, person-centred approach.
- Carry out comprehensive risk assessments and develop safeguarding plans.
- Work collaboratively with health professionals, care providers, housing, and police to protect adults at risk.
- Provide professional guidance and support to less experienced colleagues.
- Maintain clear and accurate case records in accordance with statutory requirements.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of best practice in safeguarding across the service.
Requirements
- Registered with Social Work England.
- Qualified Social Worker with a Social Work Degree or equivalent.
- Enhanced DBS clearance.
- Demonstrated experience in adult safeguarding or adult social care roles, including working with mental capacity and risk management.
