Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough assessments and investigations to ensure the safety and well-being of children at risk.
- Develop tailored care plans to provide the best possible support for children and their families.
- Collaborate with families, carers, and other professionals to gather information, conduct risk assessments, and make crucial decisions.
- Provide support and guidance to families, helping them navigate challenges and access vital resources.
- Conduct home visits, assessments, and statutory reviews to monitor the child's well-being.
- Work alongside multi-agency teams, including the police, health services, and education professionals, to protect and support vulnerable children and families.
- Prepare comprehensive reports and represent the child's best interests in court, when necessary.
Requirements
- Qualification in Social Work
- Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) registration
- Child Protection Training
- Previous experience working as a Children and Families social worker
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Excellent understanding of relevant policies and legislation
