If so, Randstad is recruiting for an Advanced Practitioner to join Oldham Council's Safeguarding and Care Planning Team. This is a permanent position, offering up to £49,764 per year, plus a generous benefits package and annual retention payment.
Here's the Role:
As an Advanced Practitioner, you will play a key role in leading high-quality practice within the Safeguarding and Care Planning Team. Working with children and families where significant safeguarding concerns exist, your responsibilities will include:
- Managing complex and high-risk cases involving children subject to Child Protection Plans, Child in Need Plans, or who are Looked After.
- Supporting colleagues by modelling best practice, offering case consultations, and acting as a mentor for less experienced staff.
- Contributing to the development and implementation of care and safety plans that drive positive, lasting outcomes for children and families.
- Preparing reports and presenting evidence in court proceedings, case conferences, and review meetings.
- Working collaboratively with multi-agency partners including health, education, legal and police professionals.
- Playing an active role in service development, quality assurance, and practice improvement initiatives.
You will be a key member of the team, contributing to a culture of learning, collaboration, and high standards, while maintaining direct work with children to keep your practice current and impactful.

Requirements:
- Registered with Social Work England
- Qualified Social Worker (Degree/DipSW/MA or equivalent)
- Enhanced DBS
- Substantial experience in safeguarding and statutory children's social work
- Strong knowledge of child protection legislation, court processes, and multi-agency working
- Evidence of leading or mentoring practice within a team
