This pivotal role involves working with unaccompanied asylum-seeking children, primarily older teenagers in care, helping them navigate their transition to adulthood. Based in Sharrow, Sheffield (S7), the role requires travel across the city and beyond. You will work 37 hours per week, including 4 days in the office (with visits) and 1 day working from home.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of 18-20 young people, delivering tailored support to meet their unique needs.
- Provide expert guidance and advocacy in areas such as age assessments, human rights assessments, and trauma-informed care.
- Build trusting relationships with young people to help them navigate complex systems and promote their independence.
Requirements:
- Statutory frontline social work experience is essential.
- Experience working with young refugees and an understanding of the challenges they face, including trauma, would be highly advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and frameworks, particularly those relating to asylum-seeking young people.
- SWE Registration
- 3 year post qualifying experience within UK
- Eligibility to work in the UK
