About the Role:
As part of Trafford's Safeguarding Team, you'll play a key role in assessing risk, protecting children from harm, and ensuring they grow up in safe and supportive environments.

You'll be responsible for managing a varied caseload of children in need, those under child protection plans, and children subject to care proceedings. You'll use a relationship-based and trauma-informed approach to engage children and families and work alongside partner agencies to safeguard and promote children's welfare.

Key Responsibilities:

• Undertake assessments and manage safeguarding cases under Section 17 and Section 47 of the Children Act
• Work with families to develop and implement effective child protection and safety plans
• Attend child protection conferences, strategy meetings, and court proceedings
• Collaborate with multi-agency professionals to ensure a coordinated safeguarding response
• Maintain accurate, timely records in line with statutory requirements
• Ensure that the child's voice is central to all decision-making

Requirements:

• Registered with Social Work England
• Degree in Social Work (or equivalent)
• Enhanced DBS on the update service
• Experience working in frontline safeguarding and statutory children's services
