We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Childcare Worker to provide 1:1 care and support for a 16-year-old boy with Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and anger management challenges.

- Build a trusting and supportive relationship with the young person.
- Provide emotional and practical support tailored to his individual needs and care plan.
- Promote positive coping strategies for managing OCD and anger issues.
- Foster a safe, structured, and nurturing environment.
- Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including therapists, social workers, and family members.
- Engage in meaningful activities to encourage personal growth, self-confidence, and resilience.
- Monitor and manage challenging behaviors using de-escalation techniques and trauma-informed practices.
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to care planning and reviews.
What We're Looking For:
- Experience working with children or young people, especially those with emotional or behavioral difficulties (desirable).
- A calm, empathetic, and patient approach.
- Strong communication and active listening skills.
- Ability to remain composed in challenging situations.
- Knowledge of OCD, anger management, or mental health issues (advantageous but not essential - training provided).
- Flexibility to adapt to the young person's evolving needs.
- Relevant qualifications in childcare, social care, or mental health (e.g., SVQ Level 3 or equivalent) are beneficial but not mandatory.
