rs to take on a contract working with an award winning service with top marks from the care inspectorate. The service supports children with social, emotional and behavioural issues ages 10-18. You will support children and young people on their journeys from secure services, to residential and then throughcare or transitioning back to their families, own tenancy or adult support services. This is a challenging, but rewarding position that will allow you to witness the development and improvement of the young people on a long-term basis.
The service is full of amenities including a swimming pool, gymnasium, climbing wall, all-weather pitch and sensory area. No two days will be the same and you will never be short on activities to do with the young people!
Typical working pattern is 1 long day followed by two days off. Salary is up to £33,000 pro rata depending on experience. You will be part of the rota and expected to take on the same responsibilities as the existing team for the duration of the contract which is expected to continue into 2022.

A successful residential childcare worker will responsible for:
- Working effectively as part of a team
- Supporting the social, emotional and educational needs of children
- De-escalating challenging behaviour
- Co-ordinating with teachers, social workers and wider care team
- Maintaining professional manner and working to National Care Standards
- Working to a flexible schedule, including nightshifts, weekends and bank holidays
To be successful in your application, you will:
- Have previous experience working in a care setting with young people
- Experience in a secure setting is beneficial, but not essential
- Have flexibility in the roles undertaken
- Have strong communication skills
- Register under the PVG scheme
- Full driving licence
- Obtained SVQ level 3 in Health and Social Care, or equivalent
