Job Description:
As a Residential Care Worker, you'll be at the heart of providing essential care and support to children in need. From daily assistance to fostering growth, your dedication will create lasting positive change.
You will be responsible for:
- Ensuring each young person's safety and effectively addressing their care, education, social, emotional, cultural, therapeutic, and health needs.
- Implement and use communication tools such as picture exchange and makaton.
- Exercising appropriate control over children and young people at all times.
- Collaborating with parents, families, carers, and other professionals to advocate for and promote the welfare of children and young people.
- Working various shifts, including early mornings, late evenings, and sleep-ins, on weekdays, weekends, and Bank Holidays, within the Homes and on residential trips.
- Promoting an organisational culture that values every team member's contribution and is intolerant of discrimination in any form.
- Maintaining the highest levels of confidentiality.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children facing challenges is valued.
- UK drivers licence
- Flexibility to work shifts, including sleep-ins and weekends, is essential.
- Remaining calm under pressure is a key asset.
- An enhanced DBS check to meet regulatory requirements is a must.
