Middlesbrough Borough Council's Safeguarding Team is seeking a dedicated and experienced Adult Social Worker to join our team. We are committed to protecting adults at risk of harm and providing high-quality support to vulnerable individuals.
About the Role:
You will be part of a team dedicated to:
- Providing specialist support and intervention to adults who are at risk of harm or abuse.
- Working collaboratively with individuals, families, carers, and other agencies to develop individualised care plans and deliver effective interventions.
- Engaging with individuals and families, building trust and rapport to support positive change.
- Maintaining accurate records and documentation, adhering to relevant legislation and guidelines.
- Advocating for the needs of vulnerable adults, ensuring their voices are heard and their rights are protected.
- Participating in regular supervision and professional development opportunities.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of adults at risk, identifying their needs and risks.
- Develop and implement individualised care plans, tailored to the specific needs of each individual.
- Provide direct support to individuals through one-to-one sessions, group work, and community outreach.
- Work collaboratively with other professionals, including health services, housing providers, and the police, to deliver effective and timely interventions.
- Monitor progress, evaluate interventions, and make adjustments as needed.
- Advocate for the needs of vulnerable adults, ensuring their rights and well-being are protected.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation, adhering to relevant legislation and guidelines.
- Participate in regular supervision, training, and professional development opportunities.
Key Requirements:
- Qualified Social Worker (DipSW, CQSW, BA Hons in Social Work, or equivalent).
- Social Care England registration.
- Updated DBS check.
- Experience working within Adult Social Care, particularly in a safeguarding or risk management role.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and guidance related to safeguarding adults.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage competing demands.
- Commitment to person-centered practice and a commitment to improving the lives of vulnerable adults.
