Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Adult Social Worker to join our Safeguarding Triage Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for receiving, assessing, and triaging safeguarding concerns. Some cases will be resolved within the triage team, while others will be referred to the Safeguarding Coordination Team for further investigation. This role offers the flexibility of remote working, with an initial 2-week induction and training period in the office to ensure comprehensive on boarding.
Key Responsibilities:
Initial Assessment and Triage:
- Receive and evaluate safeguarding concerns and referrals from various sources.
- Conduct initial risk assessments to determine the urgency and nature of each concern.
- Make informed decisions regarding the appropriate course of action, whether to resolve within the triage team or refer to the Safeguarding Coordination Team.
Safeguarding Interventions:
- Provide immediate interventions and support to safeguard vulnerable adults.
- Implement protective measures and develop initial safety plans where necessary.
- Liaise with clients, families, and relevant agencies to gather information and ensure effective safeguarding responses.
Case Management:
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of all assessments, decisions, and actions taken.
- Ensure that all case notes and reports are completed promptly and to a high standard.
- Monitor and review cases, ensuring follow-up actions are taken as required.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with the Safeguarding Coordination Team and other relevant professionals.
- Facilitate effective communication and collaboration between different agencies and stakeholders.
- Participate in team meetings, case discussions, and multi-agency safeguarding meetings.
Professional Development:
- Stay updated on safeguarding policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Engage in continuous professional development and training opportunities.
Qualifications and Skills:
Essential:
- Degree in Social Work (or equivalent) and current registration with Social Work England.
- Proven experience in adult safeguarding or a related social work field.
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding legislation, policies, and procedures.
- Excellent assessment, decision-making, and case management skills.
- Ability to work independently and effectively in a remote setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive and complex situations with professionalism and empathy.
