We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Attendance Officer to join our vibrant school community in Bexley. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in ensuring high levels of attendance and supporting the well-being of students. As part of a supportive team, you will help create a positive learning environment by addressing attendance issues and promoting regular school attendance.
The position will begin as soon as possible and the candidate should expect to work Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.
When you work in this school your responsibilities will include :
... - Monitor student attendance on a daily basis, recording all absences, lateness and early departures
- Contact parents and guardians regarding unexplained absences and follow up on patterns of poor attendance
- Prepare and present detailed attendance reports to school leadership, identifying areas of concern
- Implement and support school attendance policies, ensuring compliance with regulations
- Work closely with students, families and external agencies to address and resolve attendance-related issues
- Support the pastoral team in promoting and rewarding good attendance
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date attendance records in the schools management system
- Manage truancy issues and provide strategies to improve student engagement with school
