About the Role
As our School Caretaker, you'll be a crucial part of our team, ensuring the school premises are safe, secure, and welcoming for students, staff, and visitors. You'll oversee everything from maintenance and security to health and safety compliance.

Location: Sheffield
Contract: Permanent full time
Pay scale: £25584 - £27711 per annum
Essential Requirements
... - A good standard of literacy and mathematics to GCSE/Level 2.
- IOSH certification or willingness to undertake training.
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
- An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
Skills
- Ability to prioritise tasks and handle emergencies efficiently.
- Practical problem-solving abilities.
- Basic DIY and repair skills.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
- IT literacy to use maintenance logging systems.
- A positive attitude and commitment to school values.
Responsibilities
- Participate in training and development activities.
- Ensure security risks to the school premises are minimised.
- Oversee activities of external contractors on site.
- Perform routine maintenance and minor decoration projects.
- Identify and log repairs and maintenance needs using the EVERY system.
- Supervise on-site maintenance contractors.
- Ensure compliance with Child Protection, Health & Safety, and Data Protection policies.
- Support the overall ethos and mission of the school.
- Provide administrative support to SEND, Pastoral, and Safeguarding teams as needed.
- Actively promote a welcoming and courteous environment.
