We are seeking a passionate and skilled School Chef to join our fantastic Primary and Secondary Schools in Lancaster providing a supportive environment where students can excel academically and socially. The chef will be responsible for planning and preparing high-quality meals that meet nutritional guidelines and cater to diverse dietary needs, ensuring an enjoyable dining experience for our students.

Job Responsibilities:
- Menu Planning: Develop nutritious and balanced menus that appeal to student's tastes and dietary requirements.
- Food Preparation: Prepare and cook meals from scratch using fresh ingredients, ensuring high standards of taste, presentation, and hygiene.
- Kitchen Management: Maintain cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Team Leadership: Lead and motivate kitchen staff, providing guidance and training as needed.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the catering team to deliver efficient meal services and contribute to menu development.
Preferred Skills:
- Proven experience as a chef, preferably in a school or similar setting.
- Strong culinary skills and knowledge of nutrition and dietary requirements.
- Ability to work under pressure and deliver high-quality meals on schedule.
- Excellent organisational and leadership skills.
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of food hygiene and safety.
Requirements:
- An Enhanced Child DBS or willingness to undertake one (we can help with this).
- Good knowledge of the UK national curriculum.
- Excellent planning and organisation skills.
