We are seeking an experienced Library Assistant to work in our school based within Redbridge. This is a full time role starting ASAP and you will be expected to work from 8.00am-4.00pm Monday to Friday.

Some of the responsibilities to be considered for this role:
- The management of the Library's budget, staffing and electronic and hard copy resources
- Manage and promote a wide range of resources in a variety of formats and, where appropriate, the equipment to access them
- To support a library user education programme which develops students' independent access to
the library and its resources - Liaison with all departments in the school and with the wider learning community to ensure appropriate access to learning resources
- Give help to pupils and staff on resources available in the Library to assist student learning and extend patterns of teaching
- To ensure all duties and responsibilities are discharged in accordance with the school's health and safety at work policy
- Support for literacy and reader development within the school
- Promote reading through events and opportunities
The required skills for this position are listed below:
- Previous experience of working in a Library
- Eligibility to work in the UK (essential)
- DBS on a update service is a must or willingness to get a new one
- Provide specific references
- Ability to maintain a professional manner in challenging situations
- Demonstrate attention to details and interpersonal skills
