We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated School Nurse to join a School in Wetherby and provide comprehensive healthcare services to our diverse student body. You will play a crucial role in promoting the physical, mental, and emotional health and well-being of our students, empowering them to thrive in their learning journey. The candidate would need to be available 20 hours a week (hours can be flexible but will need to work over the school lunch break Monday-Friday).
Can offer temporary agency contract (8-12 weeks) or temp to perm option for someone who would like the role on a longer term basis. Perm pay rates range from £26-30K for part time 20 hoursHourly rate £25 an hour (we can be flexible)
Key Responsibilities:
... - Provide direct nursing care to students, including assessment, treatment, and medication administration.
- Manage health records and implement health plans for individual students.
- Collaborate with parents, guardians, teachers, and other school staff to ensure students' health needs are met.
- Develop and deliver health education programs on topics such as nutrition, hygiene, safety, and mental health.
- Respond to emergencies and provide first aid.
- Advise on accommodations for students with chronic health conditions or disabilities.
- Participate in school-wide health initiatives and contribute to the development of health policies.
- Maintain a safe and healthy learning environment for all students.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Registered Public Health Nurse with a valid NMC OR Nurse with appropriate experience as a School Nurse
- Experience working with children and adolescents in a school setting is essential
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, parents, and staff.
- Strong understanding of child development and health issues.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
