About the Role:
We are seeking a part-time temporary School Receptionist to join our secondary school in Leeds starting ASAP until the summer. You will play a key role in ensuring the school's front desk runs smoothly, providing a welcoming and efficient service to students, staff, parents, and visitors. This is a mornings-only role, four days a week, making it ideal for candidates looking for flexibility.
You will be responsible for covering reception duties, managing phone calls, handling administrative tasks, and using SIMS to support the school's daily operations.

Essential requirements:
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
- Previous experience in a receptionist or administrative role in a school.
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
- Familiarity with school management systems such as SIMS or Arbor (preferred)

- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Confidence in using Microsoft Office and school management systems (e.g., SIMS).
- Multitasking capability in a fast-paced environment.
- Teamwork and collaboration skills.
- Discretion and confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
Responsibilities
- Welcoming visitors, students, and staff in a professional and friendly manner.
- Managing incoming phone calls and directing them appropriately.
- Handling emails and responding to inquiries efficiently.
- Using SIMS (School Information Management System) for administrative tasks.
- Signing in visitors and ensuring safeguarding procedures are followed.
- Providing administrative support to school staff and leadership teams.
- Assisting with student attendance and absence reporting.
- Maintaining and updating school records and databases.
- Ensuring the reception area remains tidy and professional.
- Following all school policies, including safeguarding and GDPR guidelines.
