We seek a Science Technician to offer technical assistance to the Science Department, facilitating seamless execution of practical sessions and ensuring a secure laboratory environment within the school.
This is a full-time position available and with working hours from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.

Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare experiments as directed by science teaching staff for lessons and clear away afterwards
- Trial experiments in advance, in consultation with heads of department
- Audit science equipment and manage ordering of equipment as required by the department
- Ability to assemble and check suitability and function of apparatus and experiments using appropriate teacher guides/ handbooks or laboratory manuals
- Keep a check on safety regulations and risk assessments, and to advise others where there may be a problem
- Supervise and support pupils ensuring their safety and access to learning in the science department
- Carry out routine maintenance and repair of equipment as is practicable
- Participate in training and other learning activities and performance development as required
- To undertake First Aid Training (First Aid at Work) and carry out that role, if required

Requirements/Skills:
- Eligibility to work in the UK
- An enhanced DBS on the update service
- Excellent communication and people skills
- Good personal presentation and organisation
- Experience of working as part of a team and able to manage workload
- Minimum of A Level in a Science
- Interest in the science curriculum
- Understand the demands of a Science department
- Familiarity with technical equipment
