- Graduate Teaching qualification is essential
- Successful completion of teaching practice or NQT year
- Highly effective classroom management skills
- Ability to establish good working relationships with staff, students, parents and governors
- Highly organised Strong ICT skills
The main targets of successful candidate will be:
- Understanding of the school's aims, priorities, targets and raising attainment plan
- Have a secure knowledge and understanding of specialist subject(s)
- Identify clear learning objectives, content, lesson structures and sequences appropriate to the subject matter and the students being taught
- Ensure effective teaching of whole classes, groups and individuals so that teaching objectives are met, momentum and challenge are maintained, and best use is made of teaching time
- Assess how well learning objectives have been achieved and use this assessment and school provided data on a regular basis for future teaching and target-setting
- Record and report on student progress, following school policy
