Responsibilities for this role:
- Apply the school's attendance and punctuality policy, providing guidance and support to their staff
- To assist in meeting agreed targets and outcomes in the school
- To identify those children in need of support by reason of their absence from school
- To assist the school to safeguard students through joint working with other agencies, arranging and attending meetings as appropriate
- To assess need, plan interventions and implement effective actions to support children and their parents/carers to improve attendance
- Undertake home visits as part of ongoing work to engage parents/carers in working together to support children
- To prepare and maintain appropriate case notes and records
Primary requirements to be cleared for this position:
- Experience of working as a Welfare Officer in a school is required
- Eligibility to work in the UK is essential
- Ability to use basic computer skills, such as email and data entry
- Good communication and attention to details skills
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when dealing with private matters
- Enhanced DBS is required or willing to create a new one (Randstad will support you for creating a new one)
- 2 previous proven references
