Living and Working in Chengdu

The campus, which covers an area of around 10 hectares (150 mu), is located about 800 meters from the Metro Station and 30 minutes by car from Chengdu Business Center. With a population of 14 million, Chengdu is a major economic center in Southwest China. Of them, 14,000 are foreign workers, employed by a range of enterprises such as Microsoft, Intel, Toyota, and several international schools. With a high standard of living and affordable living expenses, Chengdu has earned the reputation of being a place that is both simple to relocate to and difficult to leave. It is a well-liked travel destination because of its giant Buddhas, mountains, Sichuan cuisine, and panda population.

Responsibilities

• Implement and deliver an appropriately broad, balanced, relevant and differentiated curriculum for students.
• Teach Senior School Students in Years 7 to 13: IGCSE, AS and A-level
• Facilitate and encourage a learning experience which provides students with the opportunity to achieve their individual potential.
• Contribute to raising standards of student attainment.
• Share and support the school's responsibility to provide and monitor opportunities for personal and academic growth.
• Manage classes effectively, using approaches which are appropriate to students' needs, in order to inspire, motivate and challenge students.
• Use an appropriate range of observation, assessment, monitoring and recording strategies as a basis for setting challenging learning objectives for students of all backgrounds, abilities and dispositions, monitoring learners' progress and levels of attainment.

Salary and Benefits

• Monthly salary from RMB 20-30K +
• TLR bonus for taking extra responsibility

The School

Established in September 2015 in partnership with a prestigious UK boarding school, this school is located in the southern development zone of the thriving city of Chengdu, China.
The school provides a comprehensive K-12 education, beginning with a bilingual Pre-Prep program that focuses on developing basic conversational skills in both languages. Following the British Curriculum, students are fostered in seven key areas and encouraged to explore independent learning through Forest School, and Reggio Emilia teaching methods.
In Prep School, students are encouraged to use Chinese while also building a strong foundation in English. The innovative integrated exploration course, tailored for the southwest region, combines elements of IPC, Singapore and Hong Kong curriculum, encouraging students to critically explore different subjects and integrate their knowledge to develop problem-solving skills.
Senior school aims to prepare students for further education overseas, with senior students studying IGCSE and A-Level qualifications, enabling them to apply to top universities in the UK, USA, Australia, and Canada. The holistic approach to teaching also encompasses physical education, music, art, extracurricular activities, and the Duke of Edinburgh Award, developing each student's leadership, social skills, and personal interests.
