This reputable school in Harrogate is seeking a dedicated and experienced teacher to join their dedicated team. You will be working with a small group of students, each with unique needs and goals.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Developing and delivering individualised learning plans for each student, tailored to their specific needs and goals.
- Providing a safe and supportive classroom environment where students feel valued and respected.
- Utilising a variety of teaching methods to engage students and promote their learning, including sensory learning, interactive activities, and real-world applications.
- Managing challenging behaviour effectively through a combination of positive reinforcement, clear boundaries, and conflict resolution strategies.
- Collaborating with other professionals such as therapists, social workers, and parents to ensure a holistic approach to supporting each student's development.
- Developing strong relationships with students and fostering their social and emotional growth through individual and group activities.
- Maintaining accurate records of student progress and communicating effectively with parents and colleagues.
Requirements:
- Hold a relevant teaching qualification (QTS/QTLS).
- Have a proven track record of successfully supporting students with SEMH needs in either primary or secondary settings.
- Have a strong understanding of child development and learning theories, particularly in relation to SEMH.
- Passionate about creating a safe and nurturing learning environment.
- Excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills, able to build rapport and trust with students.
- Able to work effectively as part of a team.
- Confident driver with access to your own vehicle.
- Posses an enhanced DBS or willingness to get one.
- Eligible to work in the UK (No Sponsorship)
